Through perseverance, community support, and divine guidance, our parish has grown and flourished over the years. Notable milestones include the significant contributions of Fr. Joseph Nsereko, Kabengwa (RIP), and the dedicated leadership of Msgr. Stephen Mukasa, Fr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga (RIP), and many others who have shaped our parish’s legacy.

In 1974, Ndeeba Sub Parish, under Lubaga, was comprised of three villages; Najjanankumbi, Kabowa and Ndeeba. However, the late Cardinal Emmanuel K. Nsubuga had big plans for it.
As the Catholic Church in Uganda preparing celebrating 100 years in existence, (1869-1979), the late Cardinal, who had just returned from Rome, rolled out a five-year plan to celebrate the centenary milestone, and decided to put up two churches (Ndeeba and Busega), among other things.
This is how the idea of establishing St. Joseph CENTENARY Church Ndeeba Parish was borne. It was introduced to some representatives of Ndeeba Sub Parish, but unfortunately, there was no place to erect the memorial church. Christians of Ndeeba used to converge in a one Nakku’s home for prayers.
It was at this point that Fr. Joseph Nsereko, who was curate at Rubaga Cathedral Parish and gave services to Ndeeba, told the Christians of Ndeeba to start St. Joseph litany with the intention of finding a suitable site for the memorial Church. On the fourth day, he was summoned by Kabengwa (RIP) who donated land where the Church stands today.
The late Cardinal Nsubuga personally headed the work of building the church (he contributed 20%), and Msgr. Stephen Mukasa assisted him with the pastoral work.
In 1978, after his ordination into priesthood, Fr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga (RIP), who would later become Archbishop, assisted by Fr. Vincent Mulumba, administered the Parish. They were both holding Archdiocesan offices and living at Rubaga. The Fathers house, convent and parish hall were built during the administration of Fr. Lwanga and Sr. Liz.
The Parish was instituted on 15th December, 1982, and in 1991, got its first residential priests, Fr. Charles Lwanga Ssengendo (Parish Priest) and Fr. Dominic Mwebe his assistant. It started with eight (8) sub parishes which included; Kabowa, Kibiri, Masajja, Najjanankumbi, Namasuba, Ndeeba Center, Ndejje and Ssembuule, but now boosts of Parishes like Kibiri, Namasuba, Ndejje and Masajja
