ST. VEREONICA DAY
July 13
St. Veronica Day is celebrated in honor of St. Veronica, a legendary figure in Christian tradition. According to the story, St. Veronica was moved with compassion when she saw Jesus carrying the cross to Calvary. She offered Him her veil to wipe His forehead, and when He returned it, the image of His face was miraculously imprinted on the cloth. This relic became known as the Veil of Veronica.
St. Veronica is venerated in the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Anglican traditions, and her story is commemorated in the sixth Station of the Cross. She is also considered the patron saint of images, laundry workers, and photographers
