World Day of Prayer (CWG) Namugongo
The World Day of Prayer (WDP) is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women who welcome everyone to join in prayer and action for peace and justice. It is observed annually on the first Friday of March. The event brings together people from various Christian denominations and cultures to pray for issues affecting women and children around the world.
The theme for the 2025 World Day of Prayer is “I Made You Wonderful,” based on Psalm 139:1-18. This year’s program has been prepared by the World Day of Prayer Committee of the Cook Islands. The theme emphasizes the belief that each person is fearfully and wonderfully made by God, and it encourages participants to recognize and celebrate their unique worth and the worth of others.
The worship service includes prayers of adoration, thanksgiving, confession, and intercession, as well as scripture readings and stories from women. The event also features a Bible study focusing on Psalm 139, exploring the relationship between God and each individual.
The World Day of Prayer aims to foster a sense of global solidarity and support for women and children, promoting peace, justice, and equality through prayer and action
